Welcome to the Iron County Economic Development Committee

Rooted in Heritage. Growing Toward the Future.

Formed in October 2024, the Iron County Economic Development Committee was established as part of a forward-looking county budget reconciliation process. Our mission is clear:

To create and cultivate a thriving network of local, regional, and statewide resources, opportunities, and support that drives sustainable growth, innovation, and prosperity for all within Iron County.

We pursue this mission through democratic processes, transparency, and a community-first approach—ensuring that every step we take reflects the values and voices of the people who call Iron County home.

Our Vision

We envision a vibrant, resilient Iron County where economic opportunity and natural beauty coexist. By fostering collaboration and innovation, we aim to build a future that honors our past while embracing the possibilities ahead.

A Legacy of Resilience and Resourcefulness

Iron County’s story is one of strength, adaptability, and deep connection to the land. From the early Ojibway bands and French trappers of the 17th century to the logging and mining booms of the 19th and 20th centuries, our economy has always been shaped by the natural world around us.

Today, that legacy continues. Our forests, lakes, and trails are not just scenic—they’re economic engines, drawing visitors, entrepreneurs, and outdoor enthusiasts from across the country.

Discover Your Iron County Adventure

With over 175,000 acres of public land, Iron County is a haven for outdoor recreation. Whether you're hiking through pristine woodlands, fishing in crystal-clear waters, or exploring our historic communities, there's always something new to discover.

We invite you to explore, invest, and grow with us. Welcome to Iron County—where nature meets opportunity.
