Duties
|
The Register of Deeds files, records, and issues instruments and documents of significance both to the community as a whole and to its individual citizens. Vital records document the span of our lives from birth to death. Land records documenting title in Wisconsin are maintained in such a fashion as to be readily accessible by the public for review.

Vital Records Index and Real Estate Records. Click here to access Real Estate Records are available online. The Register of Deeds has updated their LandShark Use Agreement in January 2019.

Birth Certificate Information:
Wisconsin now has State-wide issuance of birth records. The Register of Deeds office can now issue certified birth records for any individuals born in Wisconsin, no need to contact the County in which you were born. Birth records from 1994 to present are available for immediate issuance. Birth records from 1948 to 1993 may require a one day wait period for issuance. Birth records prior to 1948 will require a minimum one day wait prior to issuance.
