The Register of Deeds office records, files, indexes and maintains documents authorized by law based on the Wisconsin Statutes. All real estate documents that affect ownership of property, easements, mortgages, satisfactions, land contracts, name changes, power of attorney, federal tax liens, plats and certified survey maps are recorded in this office.
Vital Records Information: Register of Deeds Office also files Vital Records which include birth, death, and marriage records along with military discharges. If you were born or married in the State of Wisconsin, you can obtain your birth or marriage certificate in any county in Wisconsin. Statewide issuance of Death Certificates is available from September 1, 2013 to present. Deaths prior to September 1, 2013 need to be requested from the county where the death occurred.
Forms: Fees for Vital records are as follows: $20.00 for the first copy (of each record) $3.00 for each additional copy of the same record purchased at that time. We accept cash, check, or money order as form of payment.
Plat Books: The 2021 Plat Books are available for $35.00. We also have 2018 Plat Books available for $25.00. Please note that prices do not include postage for shipping. The shipping fee is $5.00 per book. If ordering online, be sure to include the shipping fee on your order and payment. Download this ORDER FORM to place an order.
